Usually that just a catch phrase but for these Imported Aubusson Tapestry pillows it is literally true. For example, an 18x18 Aubusson Pillow is 2.25 square feet, but the average crafts person can only hand weave an Aubusson style tapestry at a rate of about .4 or .5 square feet each day! At that rate, the pillow ON THE LOOM when you place your order may take another Five Days to complete.

THEN there may be orders ahead of yours. Each of THOSE will take 5 or 6 days to complete. Finally, the Wool yarns or Silk threads are hand dyed... Are the particular colors needed for your Aubusson pillows available when it is your turn? If not, we may have to do another pillow for which we DO have the right color hand-dyed yarn. And there are only so many looms and loom workers to go around!

Finally there is shipping... And by shipping, we don't mean, "throw that one pillow 'in the mail'". We mean a "ship"; What Frank Loesser used to sing about as, "A Slow Boat to China"... only this would be a Slow Boat FROM China... SO you can see why it's easy for us to run out of stock on any single piece and why it really takes some time for any single item to come back IN, if it ever runs OUT.
