This needlepoint is called Maison Des Fleurs. It has the words "Au Petit" at the top and "Jardin - Maison Des Fleurs" at the base of the center medallion. The small garden of flowers design is shown on a background color that is not black. It is more toward espresso or burnt umber. The border color is a deep beige or mushroom. Under certain light is may appear to have a greenish hue. Whatever it actually is, it works beautifully next to expresso!
The colors that make up the flower pot in the "Jardin" are burnt sienna (or paprika), persimmon and a very pale pink for highlighting - very nice. You may look at it and think it was the prettiest "red" urn. There are many and varied colors that make up the foliage including what I describe as dusty teal, moss, bronze and off white. There is also a muted greenish yellow, very subtle. The blending of these colors, chosen by artist Angela Staehling, create a lovely appearance that would never become tiresome. Consider the Boutique Des Fleurs as a companion pillow. Measures approximately 16x16, has a down and feather insert and is finished in a beige tassel trim. The back is done in an olive green cotton velvet with a zipper closure.
