As part of the Colonial Williamsburg Collection, I favor this needlepoint pillow we call Pocket Full of Posies. The combination of the colors chosen are just right for the perfect spring or summer decor.
Presently, the image looks "bright". However, the actual colors are much more toned down. For instance, the image of the green back looks much lighter than it actually is. I would call this pillow cheery but in no way garish! It is altogether, very pleasant.
The background is not quite white. From light to dark, the foliage is made up of a soft light green, sage, moss and forest green. The veins are burnt umber.
The rose tone flower is graded with a very light pink almost champagne for the hightlighting, followed by deep salmon, rust and burnt sienna. The blue is light steel blue graded to indigo with the center "yellow" being straw then gold and finishes out with a deep mustard for shading.
This floral pillow is backed and welted with a linen fabric in a lovely shade of spring green. It has a zipper closure, a poly fill insert and measures approximately 14x14.
The face is 100% wool and hand stitched.
